• slugs are edible if gutted and boiled, to avoid parasitic infection.
  • slugs can be placed in a solution of 50% water, 50% vinegar to quickly kill them - a process which also removes a lot of slime.
  • slugs may be boiled in several changes of water to completely remove slime.
  • look for slugs in damp shady places, especially after a rain.
  • taste may be inferior to that of snails unless seasoning is used.
