berry is sweeter than the Red huckleberry.
berry is high in vitamin C.
plant is a deciduous or evergreen shrub.
varieties in Ontario are Common black huckleberry (Gaylussacia baccata) and Thinleaf huckleberry (Vaccinium membranaceum).
grows in forests in montane and subalpine areas.
