Twisted Stalk

varieties in Newfoundland are Claspleaf twisted-stalk (Streptopus amplexifolius) and Rosy twisted-stalk (Streptopus lanceolatus).
grows in dense, moist undergrowth.
warning: berries eaten in quantity can have a laxative effect.
