Look-alikes in California

Caloboletus rubripes, of unknown edibility, differs most obviously in that the flesh and pores bruise blue. In addition, the stem differs by being reddish at the base, yellowish at the apex, and lacking reticulation. The edible Boletus regineus differs in that the cap is not heavily fibrous and the stem is whitish.
