Look-alikes in Washington

A number of inedible or poisonous white mushrooms are superficially similar, but lack the bright pink gills when young. The edible but not-recommended Agaricus semotus has pinkish gills but differs in that the cap discolors to yellow when bruised. It causes gastrointestinal distress in some individuals.
